This site has been established to keep the community informed of the status of on-going construction activities on this project.  We are aware of the importance the local community places on environmental preservation and the effort put forth to maintain a beautiful and peaceful setting for all to enjoy.

CONSTRUCTION OVERVIEW

This project will replace the aging fuel storage tanks for the Navy at Defense Fuel Supply Point (DFSP) Point Loma in San Diego.  It includes the construction of eight new aboveground storage tanks, a Fuel/Oil Recovery (FOR) facility, lube oil storage facility, fire water manifold, control tower, truck rack facility, pumphouse, and three storm- water retention basins. 

The existing aboveground storage tank (AST) fuel farm, FOR facility, lube oil facility and various buildings in the area will be demolished to facilitate new work.  Additional demolition includes the removal of existing fuel piping and in-place closure or removal of numerous underground storage tanks (USTs).

Final completion of this multi-year project is anticipated in 2013.
